Happy Holidays

December 13, 2007

My name is Jeremy Fiebig. I’m a member of the Theatre faculty at Waldorf College.

We here at Waldorf Theatre at Waldorf Theatre have undergone a HUGE semester. In addition to producing The Car by Carol Wright Krause and Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, we’ve created Film Club — an organization that watches some of the best films made each week — as well as Waldorf’s own chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, we’ve hosted a hugely successful Haunted House, undertaken our annual tradition of theatre camp, renovated a new laboratory/performance space, and much more.

We’re excited about the new semester. We have a lot lined up, including two mainstage productions, three student shows, the 24 hour theatre project, and a renovation of Smith Theatre, our main performance space.

Before we begin all that, though, we’re pausing to catch our breath and to celebrate in this joyous season.

We want to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a most blessed holiday.

See you in January!

Goals and Hello World!

December 11, 2007

Hello World,

My name is Steven Van Overbeke, and I would like to be the first to say hi. Also, I would like welcome you all to what will be a bi-weekly blog for the theatre here at Waldorf College as soon as the college starts back up in January.

This is the start of a new era at the college. Never before has this college ever had a blog on which students could tell the world what is happening in a certain area of the college. This is a momentous occasion for us all here at Waldorf and especially for the Theatre Department.

There are many things which we hope to do with this blog. First, we here in the Theatre Department want to show the world what is happening with our theatre program here at Waldorf College. We want to show the changes that occur here all the time.

The next thing that we want to be able to do is give you different insights into what is occurring in the program as of right now. That is why we will be having many different people contributing to this blog, and not just one person. Along with different people sharing their own insights into the program we will also be sharing are own personal insights to the field of Theatre.

The third thing we wish to do is to highlight what a great place the Waldorf Theatre Department is to participate in. We wish to show what a positive environment it is. Also, how much one can learn and grow as a person here.

The final thing that we hope to accomplish with this blog is to share with people the philosophy that the Theatre Department here at Waldorf has developed, and what one would gain from participating in this program which will be shared at some point in the future.

So, to close out this first entry into the Waldorf College Theatre Blog I would just like to say I hope to have fun coordinating this blog. Also, I want to say have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
